The Story

Bluestone is a band that has been performing for many venues since forming in 1993.
The band derives its name from the blue in bluegrass and the stone from "Keystone"
a former band of some of the original members. The band that originally formed over
two decades ago with Dick Laird is currently comprised of Tom Cook (Mandolin, Vocals),
Carroll Swam (Guitar, Vocals), Rick Briggs (Banjo, Vocals), Russ Hooper (Dobro, Vocals),
and Heath Laird (Bass, Vocals). This hard driving veteran Bluegrass band is certainly
no stranger to the bluegrass scene as members have played with Flatt and Scruggs,
The Country Gentlemen,The Franklin County Boys, Dave Evans, Frank Wakefield,
Gary Ferguson, Paul Adkins and others. Firmly grounded in traditional bluegrass, Bluestone's
repertoire also incorporates; gospel, country, blues, swing and folk influences as well.

This band has had the honor of having Chris Warner a Former Member of Jimmy Martin
being a recent member and Patrick McAvinue in his very younger days being past
contributors to this bands success.

They have several CD's they have produced, the most recent
"What Goes On" was recorded under the Patuxent Label.

Some of the venues played have been The Lincoln Theatre --"Song of the Mountains",
10th Annual Wyoming BBQ Festival,The Whittaker Center, The Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival,
The Maryland Hunt Cup, The Arcadia Bluegrass Festival,Coleman Station Bluegrass Festival,
2019 PA Governor'sBall and others.
